Apple Music has released this month’s Africa Now DJ Mix, featuring Nigerian DJ and cultural tastemaker DJ Obi.
With over two decades of experience, DJ Obi has established himself as one of Africa’s most influential DJs, known for delivering high-energy sets that bridge Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, House and beyond. From setting a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon DJ set to building his globally recognised platform Obi’s House, his impact spans music, culture and nightlife across Lagos and international cities alike.
For his Africa Now DJ Mix, DJ Obi curates a vibrant, feel-good selection rooted in connection, nostalgia and movement. Blending chart-topping hits with personal favourites, the mix reflects what he describes as “good memories, good vibes,” bringing together artists and sounds that have shaped his journey.
Designed as a “travel time mix,” DJ Obi captures the energy of summer road trips and city nights, offering a seamless listening experience built for both movement and escape. “When you listen to this mix, I want it to celebrate everything about African culture. Press play, close your eyes and envision a great summer vibe in your favourite African destination,” DJ Obi tells Apple Music.
Featuring tracks from artists including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Ayra Starr, Tems, Rema, King Promise and DJ Tunez, the mix highlights the diversity and global reach of contemporary African music. From Afrobeats and Amapiano to Afro-fusion and dancefloor-ready anthems, the selection reflects a constantly evolving soundscape shaped by collaboration, experimentation and cultural exchange .
