Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio, presented by Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B Ebro Darden, is turning the spotlight on rising South African talent Lowfeye this month. Joined by Africa Now Radio host Nandi Madida, Ebro dives deep into Lowfeye’s latest single “Sosobala” (feat. Anzo & Danya Devs), a standout cut from his debut album NOSANGE.
Built on hard-hitting, cinematic production, “Sosobala” delivers sharp, confident lyricism from Lowfeye while Anzo brings his signature cadence. The track blends rooted storytelling with contemporary hip-hop energy, creating a powerful collaboration that honors heritage while pushing forward. All three artists hail from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), giving the record an authentic regional chemistry that feels both personal and elevated.
In a statement to Apple Music, Lowfeye explained the deeper meaning behind the song: “‘Sosobala’ is more than just a flex record, it’s me tapping into real legacy. He was a legendary figure from eNquthu in KZN. When I rap ‘nobody flyer than me, feel like Sosobala,’ I’m referencing that level of elevation and vision, and being ahead of your time. The collaboration between myself, Anzo, and Danya felt natural because all three of us are from KZN. It felt like the perfect canvas to tell this story, blend our styles, and pay homage while still making something that feels fresh and true to us.”
NOSANGE, released on March 27, 2026, marks Lowfeye’s bold debut project. The 14-track album explores themes of identity, ambition, duality, struggle, and self-discovery. It moves fluidly between raw introspection and commanding presence, with cinematic production and layered writing that positions each song as part of a larger narrative about legacy and personal evolution. Lowfeye continues to carve a distinct lane in African hip-hop — one rooted in traditional rap foundations but unafraid to experiment and push sonic boundaries.
