Beda Annoucnes New Album ‘Will Let You Go’

Beda, a versatile musician, announces his intensely personal and sonically lush solo record, Will Let You Go, slated for release on May 2, 2025. The work takes listeners on an intimate exploration of love’s varied hues, interlaced with soulful tunes, engaging grooves, and some of the most captivating female vocalists in modern music.

The Voyage: From Endingen to Africa

Beda’s musical journey started in the small European town of Endingen—a name that might suggest an ending, but for him it marked only the start. As a youngster, he took up the drums, unknowingly laying the beat for a life that would cross borders. His enthusiasm brought him to Zurich, where he studied music formally, concentrating heavily on percussion. There he uncovered the African origins of his craft.

That insight ignited a life‑changing expedition, leading him out of academia and onto a plane bound for Accra. Immersed in the lively realm of traditional African drumming, Beda sharpened his skills and discovered something even more profound: love. He established a home and a family, blending cultures and beats in a manner that would permanently influence his music.

A Musical Life

Returning to Europe, Beda earned a reputation as a seasoned drummer and instructor, passing on his rhythmic expertise to countless pupils. As a core member of the celebrated reggae outfit The Dubby Conquerors, he traveled worldwide, sharing stages with Jamaican legends such as Romain Virgo, Kabaka Pyramid, and others.

However, during a sunset evening in Mexico City, looking out from his hotel room, Beda sensed a summons—one urging him to step beyond his comfort zone, uproot his life, and immerse himself entirely in African rhythms.

The impulse gave rise to Beda’s—an event venue and creative space in Old Ashongman where artists worldwide gather to collaborate. Since then, Beda has partnered with Kofi Kinaata, Santrofi, Pat Thomas, Rocky Dawuni, Dela Botri, Black Sherif, Israel Maweta, A.B. Crentsil, Nero X, K.O.G., Kwame Yeboah, and numerous others.

The Album: Will Let You Go

Following years of crafting and polishing, Will Let You Go is now prepared for the world. The record comprises eleven emotionally charged love songs, capturing love’s peaks and valleys—its joy, sorrow, desire, and yearning. Every track narrates a tale, echoing shared feelings that bind us together.

To deepen the album’s emotional resonance, Beda brought in six remarkable female singers:

Wiyaala, the worldwide star Funsi, leads the title track, Will Let You Go. Truth Ofori, then only 12, concludes the album with the moving Lullaby. Lamisi, Susan Augustt, Feli Nuna, and Cathryn contribute their distinct vocal brilliance, crafting moments of sheer musical transcendence.

Crafted with Passion

Each note of Will Let You Go originated in Beda’s studio in Old Ashongman. The tracks were honed through live shows on Beda’s stage, where his band infused each piece with vitality, night after night. The outcome? A smooth fusion of Soul, Reggae, and Pop, brimming with feeling and genuineness.

This isn’t merely an album—it’s an experience. It celebrates love in all its intricacies. It reminds us that love is the most potent force around, able to unite cultures, reshape lives, and spark change.
