Dave Announces First Ever Lagos Headline Show at the National Theatre

British Nigerian rapper Dave, known professionally as Santan Dave, has announced his first ever headline concerts in Lagos, Nigeria. The shows are scheduled for Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17 at the National Theatre, Lagos, as part of his ongoing The Boy Who Played the Harp 2026 tour. Tickets are set to be available via santandave.com, with early access sign-up open at santandave.lnk.to/Lagos.

The announcement, made via his official X account, was accompanied by a striking promotional poster featuring a satellite image of the African continent illuminated at night. Dave described the Lagos dates as a homecoming, writing: “I’m announcing my first ever headline shows here, and we have made sure this homecoming will be special.”

The concerts are backed by live music promoter Massive and global giant Live Nation, signalling the scale and ambition behind the Lagos run.

The Boy Who Played the Harp is Dave’s third studio album, released on October 24, 2025 through Neighbourhood Recordings. It made Dave the first British rapper to debut three albums at Number 1 on the UK Charts. The project is a landmark body of work, its title drawing on the biblical figure of King David and carrying deeply personal resonance given the rapper’s Nigerian roots. His Nigerian heritage pulses through his music in cadence, code-switching, references, and the lived tension of being both Black British and diasporic.

The album’s ties to Nigeria run particularly deep. Its lead single “Raindance” features Nigerian singer, Tems. Making this the fifth Nigerian artist he has worked with. The track has since surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify and peaked at Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart. The Success Story of Dave and Tems’ “Raindance”

For Nigerian fans who have followed his career from Psychodrama to the present, October 2026 is shaping up to be a significant moment.
