Shatta Wale Earns Three Nominations at 2026 IRAWMA

Shatta Wale is once again poised to represent Ghana on the global stage following the announcement of nominees for the 2026 International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).

Continuing his streak of international recognition, the Shatta Movement leader secured three major nominations this year — underscoring his enduring influence as both a recording powerhouse and a commanding live performer.

IRAWMA 2026 Nominations: Best African Dancehall Entertainer, Best Music Video – (“Street Crown”), Concert of the Year (One Day) – (Shattafest). Shatta Wale enters the 2026 awards race as the most decorated Ghanaian artist in IRAWMA history. At the 42nd IRAWMA ceremony held in Florida in March 2025, he swept all three of his nominated categories, winning Best African Dancehall Entertainer, Best Music Video for “Killa Ji Mi,” and Best Crossover Song for his collaboration with Bounty Killer on “Commando.”

That hat-trick victory pushed his total IRAWMA trophy count to nine, solidifying his status as the most awarded Ghanaian — and one of the most recognized African — artists in the history of the ceremony.

His relationship with IRAWMA dates back to 2014, when he won Best New Entertainer. Since then, he has added multiple accolades to his résumé, including Best African Song/Entertainer (2016), a Special IRAWMA Award of Honour (2018), Best Music Video and Best Afrobeat Entertainer (2019), and Best Virtual Entertainer of the Year (2021).
