Teasley taps into summer romance on new Afrobeat/R&B fusion single “Do Me Like”

Emerging tropical R&B artist Teasley has released his latest single, “Do Me Like,” a breezy Afrobeat and R&B fusion track built around themes of summer romance and feel-good energy.

Blending rhythmic Afrobeat grooves with smooth R&B melodies, “Do Me Like” captures a laid-back, sun-soaked atmosphere designed for warm-weather playlists. The track leans into Teasley’s signature style—light, danceable production paired with expressive vocals—creating a sound that reflects both intimacy and escapism.

Born Josh Teasley, the Oakland-born, St. Louis-raised singer has steadily built a reputation for crafting music that channels a carefree coastal lifestyle. His artistry is often described as a balance between soulful vocals and upbeat, tropical-inspired production, offering what he calls a “soundtrack to a good life.”

Teasley first gained traction with his debut EP Feeling Better, co-produced by Trevor Dahl of the EDM trio Cheat Codes. The project included the single “Hit It,” which surpassed one million streams and received international radio support, including airplay on Italian national stations. Its accompanying music video, backed by Red Bull, also reached the top 10 on MTV’s dance charts.

In 2018, Teasley continued his upward trajectory with “Way Back,” a single that broke into the UK Music Week Top 20, peaking at No. 16 on the Pop/Club/Dance charts and outperforming major releases at the time, including collaborations from Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa.

Before fully committing to music, Teasley funded his early career by organizing spring break travel experiences while studying at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The experience, he has said, reinforced his desire to pursue a lifestyle rooted in passion and creativity rather than routine.

With “Do Me Like,” Teasley continues to refine his blend of Afrobeat rhythms and R&B sensibilities, delivering a track that aligns with his established identity—uplifting, easygoing, and built for both the dancefloor and the everyday soundtrack.
