Rie Osei Delivers Captivating Intimate Rooftop Performance in Accra

Ghanaian artist Rie Osei delivered a remarkable, intimate performance on Sunday, 15th February 2026, at the Villaggio Vista Rooftop in Accra, providing the live soundtrack for a private joint birthday celebration honoring real estate developers Uncle Sam (77) and Kojo Owusu Antwi (30).

Set against one of Accra’s most culturally symbolic private spaces, the evening was curated with intention and refinement. Accompanied by guitarist Julian Andoh and saxophonist Papa Yaw Bonzy, Osei crafted a performance that highlighted her vocal sensitivity, refined stage presence, and cross-generational musical influences.

A standout moment of the night was the live acoustic debut of her unreleased single, “Simon Says,” which captivated guests with its stripped-back vulnerability. The set also featured elegant reinterpretations of classics and contemporary favorites, including Smooth Operator by Sade, “Kakayi” by Kojo Antwi, “Ordinary People” by John Legend and Tems, as well as Me & U.

Rather than relying on spectacle, the performance leaned into intimacy, musicianship, and emotional precision—an approach that reflects a new wave of Ghanaian artistry redefining the live music experience. The rooftop setting, combined with rich live instrumentation and Osei’s nuanced delivery, created an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and deeply personal.
