African contemporary vocalist Liboi has joined forces with Kenyan Afro‑House producer and DJ Kayrop to unveil “Twende Sote,” a track from their upcoming joint EP, ‘Nani Alisema.’ The title “Twende Sote,” meaning ‘Let’s all go’ in Swahili, offers an exciting blend of Afro‑house and African contemporary sounds, fusing traditional elements with forward‑looking tones that feel both firmly rooted and refreshingly novel.

At the core of “Twende Sote” lies a sound that throbs with joy, motion, and connection. “When Kayrop first played the track for me, it was already speaking its own language. It didn’t even wait for words; it went straight to my soul!” Liboi explained. The song captures the vitality of African dance while weaving traditional chants and natural percussion, delivering an immersive experience that deeply resonates with listeners.

Kayrop described  “Twende Sote” as African dance music that is grounded in African rhythms yet carries a fresh, contemporary flair. “I drew a lot of influence from styles such as Gqom, Afro‑house, and traditional African sounds,” he noted. “The vibe of the track feels communal; it’s as if everyone is moving together, sharing energy,” he added. The melodies convey that unity, while the intense, driving drums inject a raw, motivating pulse that compels movement.

Kayrop’s aim was to move listeners both physically and emotionally. “From a producer’s perspective, I was crafting a groove that makes your head nod before you even notice it. With the melodies, I wanted them to feel something even before the lyrics arrive, as if the music itself is already telling a story,” he said.

Liboi described their collaboration as “beautiful creative chemistry that felt like a conversation through sound.” She said, “We both entered the studio ready to play, explore, and simply feel our way through the music.” She added that “He [Kayrop] would come in with these amazing beats, already attuned to my style, yet still leaving ample space for me to pour myself into them.” The track emerged unexpectedly while the duo was working on another project. “We had a song that just wasn’t landing, so instead of forcing it, we decided to scrap it entirely,” Kayrop explained. “That choice led to TWENDE SOTE being born—a last‑minute idea that ultimately brought everything together perfectly.”

Discussing their future plans, the artists mentioned they are developing visuals for the single and designing an experience for the live shows of their forthcoming EP. “We’re also envisioning ways to perform these tracks so that fans can truly feel the energy we pour into them,” Liboi said.
