Asake is back, and he means business. The Nigerian superstar has officially unveiled the full tracklist for his highly anticipated fourth studio album M$NEY, confirming a release date of Friday, May 1, 2026, via his independent imprint Giran Republic and Empire Distribution.
The tracklist reveal came in characteristically stylish fashion. Shared on Instagram in partnership with Spotify, Spotify Africa and Spotify UK and Ireland, the announcement arrived as a cinematic video with a gallery inspired aesthetic at its centre. In the visual, Asake walks through a grand marble hall where the names of his new tracks are etched into stone as the floor cracks beneath his feet. For an artist whose rise has been nothing short of seismic, the imagery felt right on the nose.
A Career Built on Milestones
M$NEY is Asake’s first album since 2024’s Lungu Boy, arriving four years after his explosive debut LP Mr. Money with the Vibe, which broke the record for the biggest opening day for an African album on Apple Music at the time. What followed was a run few Nigerian artists can match. Work of Art in 2023 matched its predecessor’s chart position, and Lungu Boy in 2024 became his third consecutive number one album in Nigeria, ultimately logging the longest run at the top in Nigeria chart history.
M$NEY carries considerable weight beyond its tracklist alone. The project is Asake’s first full length body of work under his independent imprint Giran Republic, following his departure from YBNL Nation in early 2025. On 12 February 2025, he released the single Why Love under the new label, officially marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Everything since has pointed toward this moment.
The Features Are Carefully Chosen
The album spans 13 tracks, with only three guest appearances across the project, the selection signals confidence, letting his music drive the narrative while using collaborations to expand the project’s global reach rather than define it.
Those three features, however, are well chosen. DJ Snake appears on Worship, fusing Asake’s vibrant street pop energy with the world-renowned French producer’s dance music influence. The track has already been circulating as a pre-release single, and its reception has set a strong tone for what is to come. French Congolese rapper Tiakola joins the project on Badman Gangsta, adding a European urban dimension to the album’s sonic palette. South African Amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small then rounds off the features on the track Asambe, continuing a creative dialogue between Nigerian Afrobeats and South African Amapiano that Asake has been a recurring participant in throughout his career.
Featuring DJ Snake and Tiakola, who are household names in the European pop and dance music scenes, signals Asake’s intent to speak to a wider listener base than ever before, without abandoning the Fuji-influenced street pop foundation that made him a phenomenon in the first place
Building Toward the Main Event
2026 has already been a productive year for Asake. Earlier in the year, he released a joint EP with Wizkid titled Real Vol. 1, a four-track project that included the hit Jogodo, which climbed to the top of Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100. M$NEY now arrives as the main event off the back of that momentum, with Asake’s last three studio albums having helped him become the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria.
With a lean but globally ambitious feature list, a cinematic rollout and a body of pre-released singles that have already warmed the ground, M$NEY is shaping up to be the most purposeful statement of Asake’s career yet. Friday cannot come soon enough.
M$NEY drops May 1, 2026, on all streaming platforms.
