UK actress of Ghanaian heritage, Lauren Akosia, is expanding her artistic horizons by stepping into music. She debuts on record with a feature on the Afro‑house‑infused track from emerging producer JODÉ. The tune, drawing on the sounds and grooves of southern Africa, also includes the renowned Ghanaian DJ Mz Orstin.
‘Let It Go’ incorporates motifs from South African‑influenced house and Afrobeats. It features an energetic beat with sharp synth lines that are occasionally mellowed, complemented by a calming lead progression. JODÉ’s exceptional production, Mz Orstin’s seasoned touch, and Lauren’s impressive vocals combine to make this single a standout.
Lauren has long been in the limelight. She has captivated viewers with her roles on popular TV series such as the BBC’s ‘Mr Loverman’ and ‘Whitstable Pearl,’ and her singing on ‘Let It Go’ further showcases her narrative talent. In 2025, ‘Mr Loverman’ debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, with Sony Pictures Television handling its global distribution.
