Over the last six years, the Ghanaian artist has been gradually shaping a sound that feels genuine — one forged from both hardships and victories. The path has not been without bumps, yet every challenge has only sharpened his craft, molding him into a confident performer ready to share his vision with the world.

The 2023 debut EP, Change My Life, signaled a strong return following a tough stint with a record label, reinforcing his conviction that his path was still unfolding. You’ve been building your sound over the past six years. How would you say your journey so far has shaped the Charisma we hear today?

Charisma: Over the last six years, my path has transformed me from a raw, determined performer into a more polished and mature creator. My music has evolved, taken on fresh shapes, and I feel it’s now prepared to resonate more deeply with the world while propelling my creativity to new heights.

Your debut EP “Change My Life” dropped in 2023. What personal or artistic changes did that project spark for you?

Charisma: Change My Life served as a pivotal moment. Following a difficult setback with a record label, the EP became my means of recovering and reaffirming my commitment to the path I’ve always envisioned. It charted a new course, one I can’t yet fully see, but I believe it leads toward something greater.

You recently released the 2-pack single “Come With Me”. What inspired the decision to put these two songs together?

Charisma: Come With Me marks the beginning of a larger voyage toward my album. I aimed to take my audience along while exploring love from multiple angles. ‘Trabaye’ captures the playful, uplifting side that sustains love, whereas ‘Give Me Love’ delves into the profound yearning and generosity of affection. Together, they establish the mood for what lies ahead.

Between “Give Me Love” and “Trabaye”, which one challenged you the most in the studio, and why?

Charisma: Trabaye presented the greatest challenge, as I was unfamiliar with that style and pushed myself to craft something entirely new.

You’ve performed at Zama Disco, Revival Concert, and Planting & Plotting. Which of those shows felt like a turning point for your career?

Charisma: Each of those performances held its own significance, yet collectively they represented a true turning point. The energy and response from the audience revealed how deeply people connect with my music and bolstered my confidence to pursue even larger stages.

Ghana’s music scene is growing globally. How do you see yourself contributing to that bigger conversation?

Charisma: I view myself as contributing a fresh, welcoming sound to Ghana’s expanding global music landscape. What I offer may feel novel, but with time and the right environment, I believe it will resonate widely. I’m determined to work hard, reach larger audiences, and create an era of great music and vibes that people will remember, just like the remarkable moments our scene has already shared with the world.

How do you define success for yourself at this stage of your career?

Charisma: At this point, success means growing with each track, each performance, each new fan. It’s not merely about chart positions or figures; it’s about forging a timeless legacy and crafting music that genuinely connects. Success is recognizing that my sound, narrative, and vision carve out a unique space and watching that space expand daily.

When people listen to your music, beyond the rhythm, what do you want them to walk away feeling or thinking?

Charisma: When listeners hear my music, I wish for them to leave with more than just the beat. I want them to feel hope, love, joy, and the courage to persevere regardless of circumstances. My songs reflect genuine emotions and journeys, and I hope listeners see themselves reflected. If given a chance, they’ll discover my music is not merely audible but experiential, capable of shifting mood, mindset, even a day. That is the
