Dahvi unveils bold 7-track EP “Ready or Not”

Emerging Nigerian singer-songwriter Dahvi continues carving out a unique space within contemporary African music with the release of his new EP, Ready or Not, now available on all streaming platforms via ONErpm.

Raised between Mile 1 in Port Harcourt and Omoku in Rivers State, Dahvi has steadily developed a sound that blends Afropop with the Pop, R&B, and Soul influences that shaped him growing up. On Ready or Not, the artist channels resilience, vulnerability, and ambition into a deeply personal body of work centred around growth and self-belief.

At its core, the EP reflects the mindset of a young artist determined to move forward regardless of obstacles or outside validation. Across seven tracks, Dahvi balances introspection with hope, using music as a vehicle for emotional honesty and perseverance.

One of the project’s defining themes is resilience. On “Patty Cake,” Dahvi reflects on how music became both an emotional refuge and a means of survival during difficult seasons in his life. That reflective tone continues on “Peace of Mind,” where he prioritises clarity, focus, and emotional balance while navigating pressure and distractions.

Elsewhere, Ready or Not leans into vulnerability within relationships and personal emotions. “Mood” explores romantic tension, attraction, and uncertainty, while “Lonely” strips everything back to reveal feelings of emotional exhaustion and isolation. These moments showcase a softer and more intimate side of Dahvi’s artistry, allowing listeners deeper access into his experiences and mindset.

Towards the project’s closing stretch, tracks like “Dahvileon” and “Blow” shift toward confidence, ambition, and hope for a brighter future. Even in moments where doubt and struggle appear, the EP consistently circles back to determination and optimism.

Sonically, Ready or Not moves fluidly between Afropop, Soul, R&B, and subtle Highlife textures, creating a sound that feels emotionally rich yet effortlessly modern. The production allows Dahvi’s melodies and storytelling to remain front and centre while highlighting his versatility as an artist.

The EP also features a guest appearance from Nigerian star Bella Shmurda on “Samory II,” adding another dynamic layer to the project while reinforcing Dahvi’s growing presence within the new generation of African artists.
