Afrorock Princess Seefa Unleashes New Single “Run It

Nigerian-American rising star Seefa, known as the “afrorock princess,” makes a fearless return with her fourth release, “Run It” — a genre-defying single that fuses the raw, garage-driven power of alternative rock with Afro-inspired lyricism and striking use of the Yoruba language. The result is a track that’s both rhythmically infectious and eerily atmospheric.

Taking cues from innovators like Amaarae, Rachel Chinouriri, and Cruel Santino, Seefa pushes creative boundaries, weaving Nigerian slang and cultural references into a global yet deeply personal soundscape.

Now based in Accra, Ghana, Seefa wrote “Run It” after months of grappling with creative block. She shares: “One of the producers I work with sent me this song probably in October or November of last year, and it took a lot of work, introspection, and tons of scrapped versions before I finally found the story I wanted to tell with this song. I’m so glad I pushed through because this is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”
