During his recent media tour for the “Iron Boy” album, Black Sherif offered a strong endorsement to Ghana’s rising talent AratheJay. In a recent spot on Apple Music’s The Dotty Show, the “Iron Boy” artist praised AratheJay as a key voice in Ghana’s highlife scene.
“So I have a remix to this song too ’cause I love the song and I love the artiste,” Blacko shared, referring to their remix of “Jesus Christ”. I love what he’s about for the genre. He is like a pro‑highlife and that’s what he’s about. His melodies and rhythms define highlife. I love Ara and that’s it. For me, he’s the future of highlife/hiplife as well.”
“Jesus Christ”, first issued on May 14, 2024, was crafted by Ghanaian multi‑talent BillyDray. The August 2024 remix featuring Black Sherif, titled “Jesus Christ II”, topped charts on various platforms and stayed among the most streamed tracks for several weeks.
Black Sherif’s remarks surfaced amid his “Iron Boy” press tour. The 15‑song album, launched only days earlier, is already charting in more than 50 countries.
His endorsement of AratheJay further fuels the growing public enthusiasm for the young artist’s prospects. For many fans, it represents more than mere praise—it feels like a torch being handed over. Listen to the full interview here
