Diana Vickers continues her bold return to music with the release of her anthemic new single “Pretty Boys,” out now. Following her summer comeback track “Ice Cream,” the shimmering pop bop signals a confident new era for one of Britain’s most distinctive and magnetic voices.
Playful, fearless, and unapologetically self-aware, “Pretty Boys” is a tongue-in-cheek pop anthem centred on self-worth, sexual confidence, and breaking toxic patterns. Co-written by Diana alongside Dee Adam (Tom Grennan, Baby Queen) and George Glew (Deaf Havana), who also produced the track, the song blends glistening 2000s-inspired pop production with razor-sharp lyricism and Diana’s unmistakable vocal delivery.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Diana shares:
“After my type always turned out to be the toxic narcissist and after spending hours in my therapist’s chair, I decided it was time for a change. Honestly, I recommend going for the pretty boys, because they do it better. ‘Pretty Boys’ is about reclaiming my power and stepping into my most confident, sexual energy.”
She adds that the accompanying visuals channel her inner Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct — “unapologetic, dangerous, and completely in control.”
Directed by Leo Cackett, the official music video unfolds through a series of bold, cinematic vignettes that blur fantasy and reality. Drawing inspiration from Basic Instinct, 90s fashion campaigns, and Kylie Minogue’s iconic visual era, the video plays out like a fever dream of power, desire, and self-possession. As an independent artist, Diana had full creative control over the concept, styling, and overall vision, ensuring every detail reflects her confidence and creative freedom. From intimate scenes with a “Pretty Boy” to striking nighttime shots of Diana striding through Shoreditch, the video stands as a provocative statement on femininity, autonomy, and reclaiming the narrative.
Since her unforgettable breakout on The X Factor, Diana Vickers has carved out an eclectic and fearless creative path. Her debut single “Once” and UK Number 1 album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree established her as one of Britain’s most exciting pop voices. Alongside her music career, she has starred in major West End productions including The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, The Rocky Horror Show, and is currently appearing in Coven at the Kiln Theatre. She has also appeared across film and television and built a devoted following as one half of viral comedy duo Ki & Dee.
2025 has already marked a standout year for Diana, from her viral summer collaboration with Picky Bits to the launch of her hit podcast Just Between Us with The Metro, which debuted at #2 on the UK Society & Culture charts.
With “Pretty Boys,” Diana Vickers steps fully into a bold new chapter — blending pop nostalgia with a fiercely modern attitude, reclaiming her story with wit, swagger, and undeniable anthemic energy
