Rising Ghanaian artist Kojo Blak took home the Best Afrobeats/Afropop Song award at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) on Saturday night for his hit track “Excellent,” featuring Kelvyn Boy.
The win marks a significant milestone for the breakout Afrobeats/Afro-fusion artist, who earned seven nominations in his debut year at the awards, highlighting his rapid rise in Ghana’s music scene.
Organized by Charterhouse and held at the Palms Convention Centre at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, the 27th TGMA celebrated the best in Ghanaian music across various genres. The event featured live performances and recognized achievements from the past year.
In the Best Afrobeats/Afropop Song category, Kojo Blak’s “Excellent” (ft. Kelvyn Boy) beat strong competition including:
- “Crazy Love” – Wendy Shay ft. Olivetheboy
- “Gymnastic” – KiDi ft. Olivetheboy & Kojo Blak
