Independent hip-hop artist Kosha Dillz returns with a powerful new statement on unity and shared humanity through his latest single “Spill The Honey” featuring DC rap veteran Flex Mathews. More than just a collaboration between two skilled emcees, the record arrives as a thoughtful and timely reflection on connection, compassion, and solidarity across cultures and communities.
Built around soulful production and sharp lyricism, “Spill The Honey” brings together two artists from different backgrounds who share a deep mutual respect and long-standing friendship. Kosha Dillz, a Jewish rapper known for his appearances on MTV’s Wild ’N Out and collaborations with artists ranging from Matisyahu to Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, joins forces with Flex Mathews, a respected Black Christian artist from Washington D.C. whose personal ties to Jewish culture run deeper than surface-level familiarity. Their chemistry on the track feels natural and intentional, driven by lived experiences rather than symbolic collaboration.
At its core, the song celebrates the historic relationship between Black and Jewish communities while encouraging empathy and dialogue during a time when division and prejudice continue to dominate global conversations. Inspired by the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, the title “Spill The Honey” draws from the idea of abundance, generosity, and sweetness overflowing into the world. The message is simple but powerful: healing begins through understanding, shared humanity, and refusing to let hate define the future.
Rather than leaning into heavy-handed messaging, the record balances purpose with personality. Both rappers trade verses filled with honesty, cultural references, humour, and reflection, delivering a track that feels grounded, sincere, and accessible. The production leaves space for the lyrical themes to breathe while maintaining a laid-back groove that keeps the record engaging from start to finish.
Kosha Dillz continues to build his reputation as one of independent hip-hop’s most unconventional and community-driven voices. Based in Los Angeles, he has carved out a career that bridges underground rap, cultural storytelling, and social commentary. His recent album What I Do All Day and Pickle debuted on six Billboard charts, while his earlier project Awkward in a Good Way was released through Murs’ 316 imprint and produced by Grammy-nominated hitmaker Jesse Shatkin, known for work with Sia, Lizzo, One Direction, and Fitz and The Tantrums.
With “Spill The Honey,” Kosha Dillz and Flex Mathews deliver more than a hip-hop single. They offer a reminder that music still has the power to bring people together, challenge prejudice, and create conversations rooted in respect, understanding, and hope.
