NSRB Dray Maintains Composure With Thought-Provoking New Drop 'Eye for Eye'
If dropping a trio of hit tracks had already been striking, the emerging Ghanaian artist NSRB Dray has delivered yet another gem with his latest single “Eye for Eye.”
Renowned for channeling genuine feelings, NSRB Dray pushes further in this track, addressing a mood of despair and self‑doubt.
Nonetheless, his purpose on the record is unmistakable. From the first beat drop, NSRB Dray delivers forcefully on the YNT Deezy‑produced track.
In “Eye for Eye,” he rides the upbeat instrumentals for a full two minutes, underscoring the world’s excess of greed, unforgiveness, ego, and pride.
He begins with his rendition of the well‑known Mahatma Gandhi quote, “An eye for an eye leaves the world blind,” then lets his deep baritone vocals deliver a sort of “here’s how the world works” motivational talk to listeners.
The track showcases a high level of authenticity wrapped around melodic saxophone contributions from Sam Aryee, a feature often absent in many polished street‑preaching tracks recently. NSRB Dray’s performance stands out as the lyrics cut through listeners’ ears and hearts, prompting nods and notes.
He explained his lyrical choices solely to Amplify Ghana, saying his relentless spirit drove him to deliver a hopeful message to his audience.
“Eye for Eye is a musical piece crafted during a period of distress and self‑doubt. It speaks about perseverance and maintaining composure in every circumstance,” he said.
Following the release of “PLAN B” last year, which explored a comparable theme, this new single could easily be seen as his master plan; yet the artist’s unpredictability and versatility assure fans of varied sounds ahead.
“Eye for Eye” serves as NSRB Dray’s 2025 welcome note. The track was mixed by the artist himself and mastered by the skilled sound engineer QID Korle.
