UMG East Africa Signs Rising Nairobi Artist Juanita Tunu

Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG East Africa) has officially announced the signing of rising Nairobi-based artist Juanita Tunu, marking an exciting new chapter for the emerging talent whose sound blends contemporary Afro-pop with subtle rock influences and a confident, modern vocal style.

Through her music, Juanita seamlessly moves between English and Swahili, creating songs that feel both culturally grounded and globally accessible. Before joining UMG East Africa, Juanita began refining her artistry through the Sol Generation Records YouTube Artist Development Program. The initiative provided a platform for her to develop her sound, connect with audiences, and establish the foundation of her growing fanbase.

Now signed to Universal Music Group’s East African division, Juanita steps into a new phase of her career with the support of a global music company infrastructure aimed at expanding her reach and accelerating her growth across Africa and international markets.
