After delivering a record-breaking performance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana’s rap icon Sarkodie has released a powerful new single titled “Asante Yɛ Oman.” The song serves as a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of his monumental Rapperholic Homecoming concert and the unwavering spirit of the Ashanti people.
Released on October 2, 2025, “Asante Yɛ Oman” — which translates to “Asante is a nation” — captures the unity, pride, and cultural strength that defined both the event and the people who made it possible. Though the song wasn’t performed live during the show, its message is deeply rooted in the emotion and energy that filled the stadium that night.
In the three-minute track, Sarkodie expresses his gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the people of Kumasi for their overwhelming love and support. He recounts the emotional moments of the evening, including the heavy downpour that couldn’t stop fans from showing up in their thousands.
“One minute into the song, Sarkodie reflects on the tears he shed from the pure support, acknowledging that Otumfuo gave him all the backing he could ever wish for,” the statement read.
In his own words, Sarkodie shares: “First of all, I want to give thanks to the almighty God. Asanteman, thank you very much. Sark Nation, I will never forget what you have done for me. I will be back.”
With “Asante Yɛ Oman,” Sarkodie not only celebrates his personal connection with Asanteman but also cements his place as one of Ghana’s greatest cultural ambassadors — using music to honor tradition, unity, and national pride.
