Ghanaian twin duo DopeNation continues to make significant strides on the international stage as their infectious single “Kakalika” has reached a fresh high of No. 13 on this week’s Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart.

The track, which blends high-energy Afrobeats rhythms with Amapiano influences and a celebratory vibe, has now spent 10 weeks on the prestigious chart. According to Billboard data, “Kakalika” first entered the ranking at No. 35 in early February 2026 and has steadily climbed, previously touching a peak of No. 15 in recent weeks before this latest surge.

DopeNation, made up of identical twins Micheal “B2” Boafo and Tony “Twist” Boafo, released “Kakalika” in October 2025. The song quickly gained momentum through viral dance challenges on TikTok, where users across Ghana and beyond embraced its catchy hooks and upbeat tempo. The official music video, featuring collaborations and vibrant visuals, dropped shortly after the release and further amplified its reach.

Beyond the U.S. chart success, “Kakalika” has performed strongly elsewhere. It recently hit No. 4 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and No. 9 on the Global Afrobeats Chart, signaling broad international appeal for the Ghanaian act.

The twins, who grew up between Accra and Takoradi, first rose to prominence as producers before stepping into the spotlight as artists. They have crafted hits for major names, including Shatta Wale, Joey B, and Mr Eazi, earning accolades such as Group of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. With “Kakalika,” they are showcasing their own artistic vision—self-produced and rooted in a fusion of Ghanaian highlife, hip-hop, and contemporary global sounds.

DopeNation’s latest achievement adds to the growing momentum of Ghanaian music on global platforms. As Afrobeats continues to expand its footprint in the United States and Europe, tracks like “Kakalika” highlight the innovative edge coming out of Accra’s vibrant scene.
