Raised across different communities in Accra, Kinjunia’s early life was shaped by movement and uncertainty. Growing up in a large family with limited resources, he found comfort in the unwavering love of his mother. Frequent childhood illness often kept him isolated indoors, where imagination became his sanctuary. Those quiet moments sparked a creative world of stories and characters, unknowingly laying the foundation for the artist he would later become.

At just ten years old, Kinjunia experienced the devastating loss of his mother, a moment that shifted the course of his life forever. The years that followed brought instability, hardship, and emotional struggle. Yet through every challenge, faith remained central to his identity. Raised in a deeply spiritual household by pastor parents, spirituality became inseparable from the way he understood life, pain, love, and purpose.

Originally, music was never the plan.

Kinjunia once dreamed of becoming a doctor or pastor, but around 2015, illness forced him out of school and into a period of reflection. During that uncertain chapter, music revealed itself not simply as talent, but as purpose. Writing and singing became both therapy and direction, allowing him to process grief, betrayal, faith, and hope through sound.

Influenced by gospel music, highlife, and dancehall, Kinjunia naturally gravitated toward melody-driven expression. Rather than fitting neatly into one genre, he began shaping a hybrid sound that felt authentic to his experiences. Afro-Hall became the result, a seamless fusion of Afrobeats and Dancehall layered with emotional honesty and spiritual undertones.

Early songs like “No Share” and “Lala” offered listeners a glimpse into his artistic identity, showcasing not only catchy melodies but also vulnerability and depth. His music does not shy away from contradictions. In his current era, Kinjunia openly explores themes of desire, sexuality, and taboo subjects while remaining deeply connected to his spiritual roots. For him, faith and freedom are not opposing forces but realities that can coexist honestly within human experience.

That balance is fully realized on his debut EP, BIG DADDY, released on April 24, 2026. The project serves as both an introduction and a statement of intent, highlighting Kinjunia’s artistic growth while pushing Afro-Hall further into the spotlight. The EP captures different shades of his personality, from confidence and vulnerability to reflection and sensuality, all delivered through melodic performances and emotionally charged songwriting.

Now signed to Ristic Global, Kinjunia’s momentum continues to grow rapidly. His rising influence has already attracted attention beyond Ghana, including a notable co-sign from Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Popcaan, further validating his potential on the international stage.

As Ghana continues to produce globally recognized talent, Kinjunia stands out not just for his sound but for the honesty behind it. His journey from hardship to artistic self-discovery gives weight to every lyric and every performance. More than just another rising act, he represents a new generation of artists unafraid to embrace vulnerability, spirituality, and self-expression without compromise.
