KJ Spio and KiDi Team Up For “Sweet Baby Angel”

Music curator and executive KJ Spio returns in 2026 with his latest single, “Sweet Baby Angel,” featuring one of Africa’s leading voices, KiDi. The track is a smooth, soulful fusion of Afrobeats, Highlife, and R&B, crafted with international appeal while staying rooted in African musical tradition.

Produced by Grammy-winning hitmaker Sammy SoSo—known for his work with artists like Tyla, Wizkid, and Omah Lay—alongside TSB, whose credits include J Hus, Headie One, Stormzy, and Dave, “Sweet Baby Angel” delivers a rich and polished soundscape. KiDi takes the lead with his signature silky vocals, gliding effortlessly over warm instrumentation that evokes romance and nostalgia.

Set against the scenic backdrop of a beach in Jamaica, the accompanying visuals capture themes of love and devotion, with both artists celebrating the women who inspire them. The track’s message is deeply heartfelt, centered on finding that one person who brings clarity, purpose, and a sense of completeness.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the record, KJ Spio shares, “The idea was to create something that was rooted in Highlife but also had international appeal.” KiDi adds, “You roam the world trying to find that one person that completes you… When they come, everything begins to make sense. She’s your sweet baby angel. This is a song I want you to hear and move your body to.”

Following an impressive run of releases, including “Skills” featuring Fave and NSG, “Heat” with KiDi and Stalk Ashley, and “Emiko” featuring Oxlade, KJ Spio continues to solidify his reputation as a global connector within the Afrobeats space. His catalog also includes collaborations with artists such as Gyakie, Sarkodie, Konshens, Harmonize, Libianca, and Ambré, as well as his East Meets West EP, which garnered widespread media support and streaming success.
