Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats star KiDi has confirmed his departure from Lynx Entertainment, bringing an end to a long-standing partnership that played a key role in his rise to mainstream success.
The award-winning singer announced during a TikTok Live session with content creator Code Micky, where he responded directly to questions about his current status. “No, I am no longer with Lynx,” KiDi said, confirming that he is now operating as an independent artiste.
According to KiDi, the transition began around the release of “Gymnastic,” his collaboration with Olivetheboy and Kojo Blak, marking the early stages of his shift away from the label.
KiDi joined Lynx Entertainment in 2016 after winning the 2015 edition of the MTN Hitmaker. During his time with the label, he became one of Ghana’s most prominent contemporary acts, releasing a series of successful records including “Say You Love Me,” “Enjoyment,” and the global hit “Touch It.” His albums Sugar and The Golden Boy further solidified his position, earning multiple awards and international recognition.
Since moving into independence, KiDi has maintained strong momentum. His recent single “Signature,” featuring Lasmid, continues to gain traction across radio and streaming platforms.
Known for his smooth vocals, songwriting versatility, and crossover appeal, KiDi has built a fan base that extends well beyond Ghana, collaborating with international artists and contributing to the continued global growth of Afrobeats.
His departure from Lynx Entertainment signals a new chapter, as he joins a growing number of African artists choosing independent routes to expand creative and business control over their careers.
